Chancellor

The principal function of the chancellor, unless a particular law establishes otherwise, is to gather, organize, and safeguard the official acts of the diocesan curia in the archives of the diocese. 

The Chancellor orders and arranges the accessibility of diocesan records and files as part of its recorded history. The chancellor also serves as the notary of the diocese for official documents issued by the diocesan bishop.

In addition, the Chancellor may also share in the governance of a diocese by issuing decrees and also serves as the notary of the diocese for official documents issued by the diocesan bishop.
